This workshop will focus on how to create a beautiful portrait by developing a concept for your image, communicating it clearly with your subject, using a simple light setup and then editing in Photoshop for final sharing.
This photography workshop is designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience in a span of 4 hours. The course will focus on capturing images of a live model in a small environment with an intimate setting limited to a maximum of 6 students.
In the first two hours, participants will engage in hands-on photography with the live model, where they will have the opportunity to experiment with two distinct light setups. Each student will take turns photographing the model, allowing them to capture a variety of shots to enhance their portfolio.
The latter part of the workshop, the remaining two hours, will be dedicated to the selection and retouching of the best photos from the session. Participants will learn the intricacies of retouching portraits taken under the two different light setups.
Students are encouraged to bring their mirrorless or DSLR cameras, along with different types of lenses. Recommended lenses include:
- 24-70 mm for full-frame cameras or 18-55 mm for non-full-frame cameras
- as well as a longer lens between 85 mm to 100 mm for full-frame and 55 mm to 65 mm for non-full-frame cameras.
For the retouching segment, students should bring their laptops with Photoshop installed. During the class, they will learn the workflow to edit their portrait photos in Photoshop.
This workshop offers a valuable learning experience for those looking to develop their photography skills in various aspects, including capturing live models, utilizing strobes for effective lighting, directing and posing subjects, as well as mastering the art of retouching portraits.
Participants can expect a dynamic and practical session that combines theory with hands-on application, with a focus on enhancing and perfecting portrait images specifically.
Additionally, we will be providing snacks and coffee during the workshop for your convenience.
