Have you heard of the expression “eat with your eyes first”?

Well, this is exactly what we will be doing in this workshop.

Learn how to capture some amazing images of great tasting food. Our goal is to make people crave food through our pictures.

This is going to be a hands-on class where we will learn:

Lighting: a beautiful dish lit improperly doesn’t look good. Light is the most important aspect in photography and you will learn how to use natural and artificial light when taking your pictures. Learn about highlights, shadows and light modifiers to create beautiful food images.

Setting a background, use of props and composition: learn how to set up props without being distracting, compose your shots to look stronger and make a delicious dish look even tastier!

Camera position and lens selection: when shooting food, depth, texture, shape, background and the position of your camera have an important impact in food photography.

Visual qualities: You will have different challenges depending on the object you’re shooting: subjects that are translucent, reflective, always have a way to be photographed.

About the photographer:

Born and raised in Peru, Pako learned photography by accident when he started his first job at the age of 17 in a photolab in the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

After taking classes with Baravino Devoto, one of the most notable Argentinean photographers in the 70's and 80's, he developed different social essays, in Argentina and Peru.

By 1994, he moved to France, spending nine years in Paris. There he learned industrial photography with Christian Rouchouse.

Pako continues working as an event photographer, and collaborates with publications in Peru, Germany, France and in the USA.

Some of Pako’s food photography has been published in artichokechef.com and Latin Lover Magazine.

Get ready because you are going to shoot a lot.

Don’t miss it!
